Finally! The warm temperatures are here to stay which means you no longer have to worry about frost and can begin your Spring planting! There are a variety of fruits and veggies you can plant in May. In fact, according to Hunker, most summer seeds germinate and grow faster because of the warm soil! Here are a few vegetables and flowers that are great to plant this time of year.
Vegetables:
Beans – you can start planting both bush and pole beans.
Beets – begin now for an early summer treat!
Cabbage – select a variety that is suitable for your location.
Herbs – basil, oregano, thyme and sage are perfect for this time of year!
Peppers – a garden favourite! Plant as many different varieties as you desire to pick the tastiest kind.

Sunflowers – add some cheerful colour to your landscape! The seeds take 4 to 6 days to germinate when planted in mid to late May.

Morning glories – these flowers require a little extra preparation. However, it is worth it when you have beautiful butterflies and hummingbirds fluttering around your yard!
