Thanksgiving Recipe: Cranberry Apple Crisp

Canadian Thanksgiving has come and gone and now it’s time for our neighbours to celebrate a day of family, friends, mouth-watering food, but more importantly, a day of giving thanks. What better way to end off a Thanksgiving meal than with a delicious dessert! Try out this recipe for a homemade Cranberry Apple Crisp, courtesy of Country Living.

Ingredients

  • 4 large green apples
  • 1 cup fresh cranberries
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup flower
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 3/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 3/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
  • 1/3 cup butter

Preparation

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F
  2. Lightly coat an 8-inch square baking pan with butter. Add apples and cranberries to the pan.
  3. Combine sugar, flour, oats, cinnamon, nutmeg, and softened butter in a bowl. Sprinkle over fruit and bake until golden brown – app 30 minutes.
  4. Optional: serve hot with ice cream or cold with whipped cream
