When it’s a hot summer day the first treat we usually think of is a popsicle, a frozen fruit flavoured snack that kids love. Why not try a frozen yogurt pop instead? They’re easy to make and a much healthier alternative to the sugar filled store bought popsicles.

To make yogurt pops you will need some small paper cups, popsicle sticks, tin foil and a cookie sheet or popsicle molds, both work well.

Ingredients:

1 1/2 cups of fat-free vanilla yogurt 2 cups of fresh, cut-up fruit – you can use blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, pineapple, orange and kiwi or any other fruit you like. 1 tbsp. honey

Directions:

1) In a blender combine yogurt, fresh fruit (you can use just one kind or make fun combos like strawberry kiwi) and honey. Blend until smooth.

2) Pour the mixture into small paper cup or popsicle molds. If you are using paper cups use tinfoil to cover the tops of the cup and then poke the popsicle stick through the foil. The foil will help hold the sticks in place.

3) Put your pops in the freezer and freeze for about 6 hours or until frozen. If you are using paper cups this is where a cookie sheet comes in handy, place the cups on the tray to make moving the cups in and out the of the freezer easier.

4) Remove the pops from the freezer and enjoy! If the pops are sticking to the cups just run them under a little water for a few seconds and they will slide right out of the cup mold.
