Hard work pays off, twice!

It is an honour to be listed as one of Canada’s Top Women Entrepreneurs by Profit W100 for two consecutive years (2009 and 2010).  Not only is it an honour to be listed in one of Canada’s preeminent publication but it is a thrill to be listed alongside some awesome women who have had tremendous business success.  Although women account for more than one-third of small business operators in many countries around the world, and is increasing each year, statistics show that women-owned enterprises have not yet caught up to business norms.

The “work life balance” may be a myth or an oxymoron but it is the number one issue that faces women entrepreneurs, especially if they have children.  No matter how much progress women entrepreneurs make, balancing work and family remains a major challenge.  Our need to succeed and be perceived as competent, efficient and effective often interferes with our duty to take care of our bodies, minds and families.

Our goal should be to support one another and to help ensure that not only our businesses thrive but that women everywhere have the skills and tools to enjoy their lives while they work.  This is why I am thrilled to see business awards, like Profit W100, given to hard-working women who face these challenges every day.  For me to be among this list is just the icing on the cake.   I believe that being an entrepreneur was my vocation and to be recognized for my accomplishments far exceeds my dreams! I attribute the success of Lovable Labels to our dedicated, talented and hard working team and to our loyal customers who have stuck by us from the very beginning.

This adventure started in 2003 with just me, in a dark unfinished basement.  Today, we have a beautiful office in Oakville, ON with a group of talented staff members.  Our staff is outstanding and devoted to our products and customer service.  I am also thankful to my family because without their support none of this could have ever existed. Love you from the bottom of my heart!

Thank you!
