When in Rome (Part 2)…

Vacations are a fun and exciting time but they can also be a big cultural eye opening experience. Sometimes we tend forget that the world that we live is not quite the same as the world other people around us and across the wold live. This is why this vacation was so important for me and my family! During my [...]

Get over it!

On a recent trip to Italy I was on a tour bus when the bus got boxed in by an idling car.  In a flash the driver was in the other guy’s face.  They screamed, slashed the air with their hands, and turned purple.  All in six seconds.  Then it was done.  The driver, whistling, [...]

When in Rome (Part 1)…

I just returned from an amazing trip to Italy. There it was all about the food, the sights, the culture, the people — all as rich as the tomato sauce on my pizza at dinner.
Italy was an organized chaos! You can find Fiats and Vespas running wild on the streets, Italian grandmothers yelling from restaurant kitchen [...]

10 Reasons I am “uncool”:

Being cool is normally subjective. But there are some things that unequivocally make you uncool. Here are mine:

I watched a Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen marathon just to see what they were wearing.
I started using LOL and winky faces WAY too much!
I do not get the “Telephone” video with Beyonce and Lady Gaga.  Huh?
I can’t text [...]

Every little bit helps…

Here are some friendly tips to help our Environment:

Encourage loot bags or birthday presents to include books that can be forwarded to a charity or school library [...]

Career Woman or Super Mom?

Being named one of Canada’s Top 100 Women Entrepreneurs comes with some perks. The other day, for example, I attended a Women’s Entrepreneur Luncheon and I had the pleasure of meeting Victoria Sopik, Founder and President of Kids & Company.  Victoria oversees the company’s strategic direction and provides leadership to the managment team and she does [...]

Hampster Heaven

Last night was a first for me; and for that I am fortunate.  Last night as I tucked my little one to bed I asked her if she fed her little furry friend,Cinnamon.
“I did Mommy, but he didn’t come out of his house.” her little voice replied.
So, I continued to tuck her in and then [...]

Thank you!

As the word has circulated about in different circles, my wonderful news of being named in the 11th annual Profit W100 ranking has spread.  (Check it out here.)  I have been receiving many congratulatory calls and emails and want to thank everyone for their heartfelt “Good for you!”s and “Way to Go!”s.
It goes without saying [...]

How Halloween is Haunting me

Gone are the days when I can simply stroll into Wal-Mart and pick out a cute and simple costume for my kids.  Of course, I went in well equipped with my list of criteria;  It had to be cute and it had to be able to accommodate a winter coat underneath it.  I wouldn’t need [...]

We all have Hathead at some point…

If you are like me, in the course of one day you can be a paramedic, teacher, waitress, chauffer, therapist, entertainer, and maid to your children. This seems to be the general prerequisite to being a Mom (the first “true-to-term” Full Time job).  So, in order to survive, we fill our internal walk-in closets – [...]
