5 Crunch Time Snack Ideas

Back to school often means back to after-school activities. We are all pressed for time but it’s important to get in a healthy snack before you are on the go again. Here are 5 super easy, super yummy crunch time snacks to keep everyone going:

Apple and Chocolate Pudding Dip:

Ready-to-eat pudding makes an instant dip for apples.

Baked Pita or Tortilla Chips:

Use your toaster to crisp up a small whole-wheat pita and cut it into small wedges. Add a low-fat dip or even flavourful vinegar such as balsamic mixed with a drizzle of extra-virgin olive oil.

Monkey Wrap:

Spread tortilla with peanut butter, top with banana and granola (I used crushed Honey Bunches of Oats cereal instead), roll up and cut in half to serve.

Apple Rings:

A delicious and fun treat for kids of all ages. Peanut Butter with chocolate is the key ingredient in this crunchy apple treat. Cut and spread 2 apple rings with peanut butter. Sprinkle with granola and top with remaining 2 apple rings.

Fruit smoothie:

Use three-quarters of a cup of yogurt; add a whole fruit, such as an orange, peach or a half-cup of strawberries, as well as a little orange juice and some ice cubes. Tip: a banana adds a nice texture. Don’t have fresh fruit on hand? Use any frozen fruit on hand. Simple and delicious!
