What’s in your beach bag Mom Edition:

I think most of us are well-educated parents who know to bring the essentials to the beach, such as sunscreen, hats, water, but what about those not-so essentials that suddenly become the “how did I ever live without” essentials? Here are a few things that are always in my beach bag when heading out with little ones:

Baby powder:

Why it’s essential: When kiddos are covered with sand grab a bottle of baby powder, rub it on, and like magic, the sand brushes right off of their little limbs. No tears, no irritating diaper areas, no car full of sand for weeks.

Wet / Dry Bags:

Why it’s essential: Features two compartments – one for wet, one for dry; great for cloth diapers, carrying dirty clothes, or wet swimwear. Which sidesteps me into swimwear. If you are a new mum and are about to go back to the beach for the first time, you may be feeling a tad self-conscious about how you look in your swimsuit, fear not! You can look right here for some post-baby swimwear that will make you feel great on that beach.

Travel Wipes:

Why it’s essential: They smell great and most are alcohol-free, use them on little hands when its snack time and avoid that long trek to the washroom.

Coolibar Rash Guards:

Why it’s essential: Coolibar was the first clothing company to earn the Skin Cancer Foundation’s Seal of Recommendation. They are also chlorine and salt water resistant and come in tons of cute prints and colors. For me, its peace of mind when my little ones are wearing these.

Mini First Aid Kit

Why it’s essential: Although the lifeguards are fully stocked, it never hurts to bring along a few band-aids and antiseptic cream. Let’s hope you do not ever need it but if you do you’ll be happy you have it!
